Li Junkai, Secretary General of ZGC Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance, gave a keynote report
From August 19 to 20, Li Junkai, Secretary General of ZGC Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Think Tank Alliance"), and Ren Rong, Director of the Secretariat Office of the Think Tank Alliance, were invited to attend the Third Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM3) of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the APEC) held in Lima, Peru. As the project leader of the fund of APEC’s Policy Partnership for Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI), Li Junkai gave a keynote report on "Women in Science and Technology Innovation: A Research from the Asia-Pacific Region". Ren Rong made a poster presentation.
In the report, Li Junkai summarized the policies of Asia-Pacific economies to promote women's participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), summed up the highlights of the policies and typical practices of Asia-Pacific economies, and shared the international questionnaire survey data of the project team for more than 2,600 female scientists and technologists in 8 Asia-Pacific economies. She also put forward policy recommendations and initiatives to promote women's participation in STEM and technological innovation in the Asia-Pacific region. The report was appreciated by the chair of the APEC Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE) and representatives of several economies, including the United States, Australia, Peru, Malaysia, etc. After the meeting, Li Junkai had in-depth exchanges with representatives from many economies and expressed the intention of further exchange, cooperation and joint research.
Through participating the meeting and giving voice on the international stage, the Think Tank Alliance further demonstrated the research outcomes of international cooperation, enhanced the communication and exchange with the institutions of Asia-Pacific economies, and successfully expanded the influence and international circle of friends of the Think Tank Alliance.
